My History
SUZUKOH Co., Ltd. was founded in 1970 to serve as the trading arm of Enkei Corporation, a leading aluminum wheel manufacturer. Today, we operate two business divisions,one focuses on aluminum wheels, while the other supplies over 1,000 types of products, including energy fuels for factories, industrial chemicals, metal materials, and electrical appliances. Since becoming president in 2016, I have actively promoted organizational revitalization through initiatives such as the promotion of health and productivity management, recruitment of young employees, and operational efficiency improvements. In particular, I am deeply committed to employee well-being management, likely influenced by my heightened awareness of health following a period of illness. When I first joined the company at the age of 19, it was common for business meetings to include smoking and alcohol, but compared to that time, I feel the atmosphere has become significantly cleaner.
Our company philosophy is built on three principles: "Respect for Humanity," "Mutual Trust," and Coexistence and Co-prosperity." Without respect for others, mutual trust cannot be established. In other words, "Coexistence and Co-prosperity." can only be achieved through the foundations of "Respect for Humanity" and "Mutual Trust." Therefore, we consistently prioritize respect for others and the building of trusting relationships, both within and outside the company. Even with continuous advancements in AI and digital transformation, the initiative will always lie with people, and interpersonal connections will remain unchanged. From this perspective, values such as compassion, courtesy, and the spirit of gratitude should remain fundamental. Additionally, as a business leader, I am responsible for all outcomes. If I fail to consider the well-being of my employees or society, any resulting resistance or problems will ultimately fall back on me. In other words, my actions are constantly being observed by both employees and society. This ongoing sense of responsibility is what sustains my role as a leader.
The Present
When I was younger, I aggressively sought to expand the business and ventured into new fields. However, when considering the company’s sustainable development, I realized I couldn’t simply act based on my own ambitions. While bold decisions are crucial for a leader, I have realized that understanding when to hold back is just as vital. Now, I focus on maintaining composure regardless of daily fluctuations, responding sincerely in every situation. I believe that trusting my employees completely and delegating responsibilities are key to unlocking the full potential of the organization. When employees feel trusted by the president, they become more flexible, and each individual’s capabilities grow.
In addition to pursuing a right-sized organization, I see it as my role to work toward improving the well-being of those close to me. For example, we provide three annual bonuses, an annual base salary increase, and supply cooling and winter clothing to enhance working conditions. We also offer a system to support employees in obtaining national certifications to help them advance their careers. While it may sound exaggerated to speak of “God,” I believe that if everyone possessed a spirit of selflessness, showing respect for those around them, the environment, and the everyday things we often take for granted, the world could gradually become a better place. I witnessed the stark disparity between wealth and poverty firsthand in Brazil, which made me deeply aware of the importance of the basics—food, clothing, and shelter. While humanity is now venturing into space, I believe it is important to first focus on the immediate things around us.
For the Future
Looking ahead, we are committed to becoming a company that endures for centuries, ensuring steady business continuity. First, we will continue to leverage our strength in agility by offering prompt delivery services and swift payment processing, striving to provide value beyond just pricing. While we have always adhered to the mindset of “seizing every opportunity,” we are now entering an era where it is impossible to predict when or what opportunities may arise. Therefore, we plan to place even greater emphasis on trust and empathy, strengthening our teamwork so we can respond swiftly in any situation.
Additionally, with the growing adoption of electric vehicles, the demand for specialized aluminum wheels is expected to increase. As a company that supplies a wide range of materials for factories, we are committed to ensuring that our clients, vehicle manufacturers, have a seamless supply of the energy and materials they need to keep their production running smoothly. Since we also source some products from overseas, we will continue to value our international business network to maintain a stable supply. Moreover, as new environmentally friendly technologies and clean energy products emerge, we will actively explore and shift towards these innovations in line with our commitment to sustainability.
